Council Staff

Executive Director:  Under the direction of the Council and in accordance with state and federal policies, this position is responsible for the administration of Council programs and funding. He/she directs the Council's planning activities, develops and administers the annual budget, supervises Council staff, and implements the annual work-plan approved by the Council.

Advocacy Specialist:  Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position directs Council activities in the areas of leadership development, public education and advocacy training. He/she monitors state and federal legislation pertaining to people with developmental disabilities, serves as the Council's representative on various task forces and committees, and assists in the administration of the federal Basic State Grant.

Planner:  Under the supervision of the Executive Director, coordinates the development of the Council's five year plan and annual reports, provides training and technical assistance on disability issues, assists in managing the Council's demonstration grant program, serves as the Council's representative on various task forces and committees, and assists in the administration of the federal Basic State Grant.

Program Assistant: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the position is responsible for researching disability related issues, managing a mentoring program, preparing reports for publication, overseeing the stipend program, staffing a program committee, and preparing correspondence.

Communication and Events Coordinator:  Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for designing communications including web pages, brochures, displays and multimedia presentations, making arrangements for Council sponsored meetings and events, designing and maintaining databases, cataloging and maintaining the Council's library.

Office Manager: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the position is responsible for daily procedures. He/she performs administrative and clerical support services such as the coordination and administration of accounting transactions, management of the procurement and   maintenance of office equipment and supplies; and preparation and maintenance of office correspondence.
